If you're planning to join Terna Medical College and Hospital (TMC) in Nerul, Navi Mumbai, for MBBS next year, here's something worth budgeting for — tuition just got more expensive. The Fees Regulating Authority (FRA), Maharashtra, has revised the college's annual MBBS fee for 2026-27 to Rs 9,13,000, which works out to a jump of Rs 75,000 over last year's Rs 8,38,000. The notification came through on August 4, 2026, as part of the second batch of fee revisions the state has rolled out for private medical colleges this year.

How the Fees Compare

Course2025-26 Annual Fee2026-27 Annual FeeChange
MBBSRs 8,38,000Rs 9,13,000+Rs 75,000
MD / MSRs 9,00,000Rs 9,00,000No change

The good news, if there is any, is for those eyeing postgraduate seats — MD and MS fees at TMC haven't moved this year and remain at Rs 9,00,000 annually. So while MBBS aspirants are looking at a steeper bill, PG students get a bit of breathing room.

A Quick Look at Terna Medical College

TMC is run by the Terna Public Charitable Trust and is based in Nerul, Navi Mumbai. It's recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and affiliated with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik. Besides MBBS, the college also runs a handful of MD and MS specialty programs.

Getting Into TMC for MBBS

Like most medical colleges in the state, admission here runs through NEET UG. You'll need to clear NEET UG 2026 first, along with meeting the usual eligibility criteria — which basically means passing Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Most seats, 85 percent to be exact, fall under the state quota and go through Maharashtra CET Cell counselling. The remaining 15 percent make up the all-India quota, handled by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). There's also a management and NRI quota if you're looking to apply directly through the college.

For anyone going the state quota route, you'll need to register on the CET Cell portal and upload your NEET UG scorecard, Class 12 marksheet, and domicile proof. From there, merit lists come out round-wise before the final seats get allotted.

Why Fees Get Revised in the First Place

The FRA is a statutory body that decides how much unaided private professional colleges in Maharashtra can charge every year. Colleges submit their cost proposals, the FRA reviews them, and only then is a fee approved. Once that's set, colleges can't charge more than the approved amount for regulated seats — doing so can lead to refund orders and penalties.

What the Hike Actually Costs You

A Rs 75,000 increase might not sound huge on its own, but it adds up to nearly a nine percent rise in annual fees. Stretch that across the full 4.5-year MBBS course, and you're looking at an extra Rs 3,37,500 in tuition alone — definitely something families will want to factor into their planning.

What to Do From Here

Before you finalize anything, it's worth checking the full notification on the FRA Maharashtra website and confirming the exact fee with TMC's admission office directly, just to be safe. Keep your NEET UG 2026 scorecard and other documents ready, get registered with the Maharashtra CET Cell for state quota counselling, and don't forget to account for the extras — hostel, mess charges, and caution deposits can add up quickly.

The Maharashtra CET Cell is expected to announce the MBBS state quota counselling schedule soon, so it's a good idea to keep checking for updates — both on that front and on any further fee revisions the FRA might announce for other private medical colleges in the state.
