According to the official notice dated August 10, 2026, the counselling will be held on August 18, 2026, at 12:30 PM. This counselling is for WBJEE 2026 candidates who are on the merit list and are interested in getting admission to four-year Engineering and Technology courses under the Defence Quota at universities and government engineering colleges in West Bengal.
WBJEE 2026 Defence Quota Counselling Date and Venue
The defense quota counseling will take place physically at the office of the WBJEE Board.

Candidates shortlisted for the defense quota counseling must be physically present at the venue on the given date. They are advised to bring all necessary documents to complete the counselling and seat allotment process.
105 Candidates Shortlisted for Defence Quota Counselling
According to the WBJEEB notice, a total of 105 candidates have been selected to participate in the Defence Quota counselling. The list was provided by the Rajya Sainik Board, Home Department, Government of West Bengal. The candidate list is attached to the official WBJEEB notice and includes details like names, WBJEE roll numbers, dates of birth, and General Merit Ranks (GMRs). 13 Seats Reserved Under Defence Quota
The WBJEEB has stated that 13 seats are reserved under the Defence Quota for admission into Engineering and Technology courses.
Of these:
- 11 seats are allocated across different branches in government Engineering and Technology colleges in West Bengal.
- 2 seats are allocated at Jadavpur University.
For Jadavpur University, the specific branches or streams are not decided beforehand. The final branch allotment will be decided by the university authorities.
Candidates Will Be Called According to GMR
The counselling will take place based on the candidates' WBJEE General Merit Rank (GMR). Candidates will be called in the order of their GMR. Since more candidates than seats are called, their rank will be important for the seat allotment. Candidates must physically attend when their turn comes. The WBJEEB has clearly stated that they must bring all required documents to be considered for seat allotment.
Documents Required for WBJEE Defence Quota Counselling

Rs. 500 Counselling Fee for Certain Candidates
Candidates who did not participate in the online centralized counselling of WBJEE 2026 will have to pay a Rs. 500 counselling fee in cash during the Defence Quota counselling. Therefore, these candidates should bring the required amount with them.
Domicile Not Mandatory for Defence Quota
