The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani is expected to activate the BITSAT 2026 slot booking portal in the coming days. Following the announcement of a revised examination schedule to avoid overlap with other national-level entrance tests, the institute has moved the Phase 1 testing window to late May. As of today, March 26, 2026, the registration process for Session 1 has officially concluded, and the administrative focus has shifted toward the "Online Test City Allotment" and the subsequent slot reservation phase.

The BITSAT remains one of the most sought-after engineering entrances for students aiming for integrated first-degree programs at BITS Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad campuses. The 2026 cycle introduces a more streamlined slot booking interface designed to handle high traffic during the first 24 hours of activation.

BITSAT 2026: Revised Phase 1 Examination Timeline

Candidates are advised to note the updated dates for the May session. The slot booking is a critical step, as it allows students to select their preferred date and shift on a first-come, first-served basis.

How to Navigate the BITSAT Slot Booking System

Once the portal is live at bitsadmission.com, candidates must log in immediately to secure their preferred timing. If a candidate fails to book a slot, the system will automatically assign any remaining available shift in their allotted city.

  1. Portal Login: Use your BITSAT 2026 Application Number and Password.
  2. Verify Allotment: Check the test city assigned to you by the institute.
  3. Choose Slot: Select from the available dates (May 19–24) and shifts (Morning: 9 AM–12 PM or Afternoon: 2 PM–5 PM).
  4. Confirm & Lock: Double-check the selection before clicking "Submit." Changes are generally not permitted after this stage.
  5. Hall Ticket: The admit card will be generated based on the specific slot you have locked.

BITSAT 2026 Examination Pattern Recap

The BITSAT is a 3-hour computer-based test comprising 130 questions. It is unique for its "Bonus Questions" feature, which allows high-scoring candidates to attempt 12 extra questions if they finish the main paper early.

  • Part I: Physics (30 Questions)
  • Part II: Chemistry (30 Questions)
  • Part III: English Proficiency (10) & Logical Reasoning (20)
  • Part IV: Mathematics/Biology (40 Questions)

Conclusion

The upcoming activation of the BITSAT 2026 slot booking on March 29 marks the final administrative milestone before the May examination window. With the registration phase now closed, candidates should verify their allotted test city on March 27 to plan their travel accordingly. As the exam follows a revised schedule ending on May 24, students have roughly eight weeks of dedicated preparation time remaining. Following the Session 1 exams, BITS Pilani will open the portal for Session 2 registrations in June for those looking to improve their score. For any discrepancies in city allotment, candidates can contact the BITS admission office via the official helpdesk.
