Andhra Pradesh's MBA and MCA aspirants have been keeping a close watch on one website lately, icet-sche.aptonline.in, and for good reason. The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) is expected to release the AP ICET 2026 counselling notification any time now, officially kickstarting the admission process for candidates who cleared the ICET exam this year.

For students eyeing MBA and MCA programs across AP's colleges, this counselling process is the real gateway. Clearing the entrance test is only half the job, what happens next, through registration, document verification, and web option entry, decides which college and course they'll actually end up in.

Who Can Apply

Eligibility for AP ICET counselling comes with a straightforward academic requirement. Unreserved category candidates need at least 50 percent marks in their qualifying degree exam, while reserved category candidates need a minimum of 45 percent. Interestingly, candidates from an intermediate vocational background are also eligible, provided their degree aligns with university rules and they upload the required equivalence certificates during registration.

How the Counselling Process Works

Once the notification is officially out, candidates can expect the process to unfold in these stages:

  1. Register online at icet-sche.aptonline.in
  2. Pay the counselling fee via debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI
  3. Upload required documents, including rank card, degree marks memo, transfer certificate, and ID proof
  4. Complete the web option entry (choice filling) process
  5. Await seat allotment results based on rank, preferences, and reservation policy

Expected Schedule for Round 1

While exact dates are yet to be confirmed, here's the tentative timeline candidates can expect:

  • Registration starts: Anytime soon
  • Document upload and verification: Third week of July 2026
  • Web option entry: Third week of July 2026
  • Final seat allotment result: Last week of July 2026

Once the seat allotment result is declared, candidates will need to download their official allotment letter and report to the assigned college on the notified date to complete admission formalities.

Counselling Fee Details

The AP ICET counselling fee is set at Rs 1,200 for general category candidates and Rs 600 for reserved category candidates. This fee must be paid online before candidates proceed to the verification stage.

A Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Start

A handful of practical details can save candidates unnecessary confusion once registration opens:

  • College codes: Every participating institute has a unique short code on the portal. It's worth downloading the official college code list in advance to avoid mixing up colleges with similar names.
  • Co-education vs women-only colleges: During web options, the portal clearly labels whether an institute is co-educational or women-only, making it easier to filter preferences.
  • Tracking application status: A dedicated 'Know Your Status' tab lets candidates check certificate verification progress anytime using their hall ticket details.
  • OTP issues: If OTPs don't arrive during the options-entry stage, candidates can use the 'Resend OTP' button, and should double-check network connectivity and inbox space.
  • Technical support: For login or payment failures, a dedicated helpline email is available on the website's contact section.

What Candidates Should Do Right Now

Since the official notification hasn't dropped yet, the best use of this waiting period is preparation. Candidates should keep their hall ticket number, graduation registration details, rank card, and other documents ready, so registration can be completed quickly the moment the portal opens. Regularly checking icet-sche.aptonline.in remains the safest way to stay updated, rather than relying on unofficial sources.
