Alongside this, the RESET Registration option for Round 1 has also been activated, letting candidates correct or update their registration details up to 11:00 AM on August 12, 2026, using the unlock/re-set registration option.
Key Dates to Watch
As per the official schedule, Round 1 registration closes on August 12, while choice filling wraps up on August 13. Seats will be allotted based on candidates' NEET All India Rank, the choices they've filled, seat availability, and applicable reservation rules. This year, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has put around 1,36,939 MBBS seats on the table for the MCC counselling process.

Choice Filling and Locking Process
Once registered, candidates need to select and arrange their preferred medical and dental colleges in order of priority. Here's how to go about it:

- Click on the UG medical counselling 2026 link
- Log in with NEET UG application credentials
- Select 'choice filling and locking'
- Choose preferred colleges and courses in the desired order
- Save and review your choices
- Lock them before the deadline
- Download the locked choices letter for future reference
Choice locking will be active from 4 PM on August 12 to 11 AM on August 13, 2026. Candidates can add, delete, or rearrange their preferences as many times as they like before locking — once the window closes, no further changes are allowed.

What Comes After Choice Filling
Round 1 seat allotment results are expected on August 17, 2026.
