The Direct Admission for Students Abroad (DASA) 2026 registration process has begun. The Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) Shibpur has opened the DASA 2026 application on the official website, csab.nic.in. The scheme allows Foreign Nationals, NRIs, and OCIs/PIOs to seek admission to 15% supernumerary seats in engineering, architecture, and planning programs across NITs, IIITs, IIEST Shibpur, GFTIs, and other participating technical institutes.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open only to Foreign Nationals, NRIs, and OCIs/PIOs
  • Must hold a valid JEE Main 2026 score/rank
  • Must be born on or after October 1, 2001
  • Must have secured a minimum of 75% marks in Class 12
  • For OCI/PIO candidates: at least two years of education (including 11th and 12th, or equivalent, not beyond) must have been completed abroad within the last 8 years, and the qualifying exam must be passed from abroad

How to Apply

  1. Visit csab.nic.in
  2. Click on the DASA 2026 Registration link
  3. Register using your JEE Main 2026 application number and password
  4. Fill in the detailed application form with all required information
  5. Upload scanned copies of your passport, photo, signature, and Class 10 and 12 marksheets
  6. Pay the DASA Enrollment Fee (DEF)

The application is considered complete only after successful fee payment. Candidates should download and keep a copy of the filled form for future reference.

Registration Fee Structure

CategoryRegistration FeeTotal Amount (Reg + Tuition)
CIWGUS $300 (or INR 62,500)US $300 + INR 62,500 (equivalent)
Non-SAARCUS $300US $4,300
SAARCUS $300US $2,300

Payment can be made via SWIFT, E-Payment, NEFT, or RTGS, with the entire amount submitted in a single transaction — only one Transaction ID is accepted. For online payment, the portal uses ICICI Bank's gateway, accepting credit or debit cards, after which the system auto-generates the Transaction ID. The registration component of the fee is non-refundable, though the first-semester tuition fee is refunded in full (subject to standard deductions) if a candidate exits the process.

Documents to Upload

  • Passport (or authenticated citizenship card for Nepal nationals)
  • Latest passport-size photo (JPG, under 100 KB)
  • Scanned signature (JPG, under 100 KB)
  • Secondary education certificates/marksheets (Class X-XII)
  • JEE Main 2026 final scorecard showing rank
  • CIWG applicants additionally need parent's passport copy, valid 2026 visa, work permit copy, and employer certificate confirming Gulf employment

All scanned documents must be in JPG/JPEG format, color or grayscale, and under 500 KB per file.

Choice Filling and Seat Allotment

The choice-filling facility opens after document verification is complete, allowing candidates to enter as many institute-course preferences as they wish. Choices must be locked before August 5, 2026, after which the last saved order is used for allotment. Seat allotment is based on JEE Main rank, with the system matching each candidate's ordered preferences to the highest available institute within their merit position.

Once allotted a seat, candidates get three options: if allotted their first choice, they can Accept or Decline; for other choices, they may Accept, Accept & Upgrade to a higher preference, or Decline. Choosing Decline generates a cancellation letter and releases the seat for re-allocation.

Selected candidates must accept the seat, pay the acceptance fee online, join a scheduled online verification meeting, and then report physically to the institute with the Provisional Admission Letter and original certificates for final verification and admission confirmation.
