Candidates who have passed the NEET UG 2026 exam can now apply for MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing seats through the central counselling process. This counselling process includes 15 percent of All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government medical and dental colleges. It also covers 100 percent of seats in Deemed Universities, Central Universities, AIIMS, and JIPMER at Puducherry and Karaikal. The registration and fee payment period will end on August 12, 2026. Candidates must complete their choice selection and finalize their preferences by this date to be considered for seat allotment.

Round 1 of the counselling process will allocate seats for medical, dental, and nursing courses. This year, the AIQ pool is the largest in the history of the central counselling process.

- BSc Nursing seats at select central and deemed institutions

NEET UG Counselling 2026 Registration Fee

Candidates must pay two components: a non-refundable registration fee and a refundable security deposit. The amount depends on category and the type of participating institution.

The security deposit for Deemed University seats is Rs 2,00,000. This amount is refundable if a candidate does not accept an allotted seat within the permitted rules.

How to Register for NEET UG 2026 Counselling

Candidates need to register online on the MCC portal. This year, the entire process is completely digital, even for Non-Resident Indian (NRI) applicants.

1. Go to the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in.
2. Click on the “New Registration for UG Counselling 2026” link.
3. Enter your NEET UG 2026 roll number and required credentials.
4. Provide your personal, academic, and category details.
5. Pay the registration fee and security deposit online.
6. Complete your choice filling and lock your preferences before the deadline.

New Changes in NEET UG Counselling 2026

The MCC has introduced several new features in this year’s counselling process. These changes affect how candidates manage their allocated seats and how NRI applicants submit their documents.

• Freeze Option: Candidates can lock their allocated seat and skip any further upgrades.
• Float Option: Retain the current seat while trying for an upgrade in the next round.
• Online Resignation: Candidates can resign from an allotted seat using the portal.
• NRI Document Upload: All NRI quota documents are now uploaded digitally on the MCC portal.

1. Visit mcc.nic.in and start your registration before August 12.
2. Keep your NEET UG 2026 scorecard, Class 10 and 12 certificates, and category proof ready.
