Admission Process

The admission of medical college in Jharkhand is mainly done on the basis of the NEET examination. The steps involved are:

  1. NEET Exam:  All medical aspiring candidates are compelled to sit for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) organized by the National Testing Agency (NTA). NEET score is employed by Medical colleges around India including the Medical colleges in Jharkhand for the admission towards the undergraduate courses in medical.
  2. Counselling:  If NEET result had been announced, then the candidates who qualify to seats will pursue state government counselling session. In Jharkhand the counselling process is done by Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB). The candidates have to get themselves registered and enter their choices and then appear for counselling sessions.
  3. Seat Allotment: As already said, there is a direct link with NEET scores and preferences, and candidates are alloted seat in their concerned medical colleges . After the seats are allotted to the candidate they will have to visit the college they get seat for, documentation and payment of fees.
  4. Document Verification and Fee Payment: The last in the process is the process of document check, which involves NEET score card, identity proof, educational qualification and in case of scheduled caste/tribe caste certificate. The candidate, upon confirmation of the admission, has to produce the fee demanded for admission purpose.
