The Delhi High Court directs the CLAT Consortium to rework UG results within four weeks and halt counselling. Revised merit lists and counselling schedules will follow post-corrections.

The Delhi High Court has ordered the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) to revise and renotify the CLAT 2025 UG results within four weeks, following petitions alleging errors in the answer key and procedural lapses during the December 2024 exam. A division bench comprising Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela emphasized that only objections filed within the designated window period were considered, with certain objections accepted and others rejected.

Key Developments

  • Revised Results Timeline: The Consortium must publish updated marksheets and a revised merit list by late May 2025.
  • Counselling Impact: Admissions counselling, currently suspended, will remain on hold until the revised results are announced.
  • PG Exam Hearing: Separate petitions challenging the CLAT PG 2025 results will be addressed in subsequent hearings.

Background
The Supreme Court had earlier transferred multiple petitions from high courts in Karnataka, Punjab, and other states to the Delhi High Court to avoid conflicting rulings. In December 2024, a single-judge bench identified two incorrect answers in the CLAT UG 2025 exam, prompting initial revisions for petitioners. The Consortium later acknowledged these errors during proceedings.

Next Steps
Candidates can expect the detailed judgment outlining specific question-wise corrections to be uploaded shortly. The Consortium’s counsel, Senior Advocate Raj Shekhar Rao, confirmed the body’s compliance with the court’s directives.

How to Check Revised Results
While the exact date remains unconfirmed, aspirants should monitor the official CLAT website for updates. Post-revision, counselling schedules will follow.

This ruling aims to resolve discrepancies affecting thousands of law aspirants, ensuring transparency in one of India’s most competitive entrance exams.
