The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has started the process for resigning Round 1 seats in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Super Speciality (NEET SS) 2025 counsel

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has started the process for resigning Round 1 seats in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Super Speciality (NEET SS) 2025 counselling. This notice was published on July 31, 2026, on the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in. Candidates who received seats in Round 1 can now resign online without losing their security deposit. The resignation period is very short and ends on August 4, 2026. If a candidate wants to leave their allocated seat, they need to complete the process before this deadline. If they miss the deadline, they will lose their current seat and won't be able to move to another seat in Round 2.
The resignation letter has to be created online through the MCC portal. It can't be done by the candidate themselves. Only the college authorities can start the process. Any physical or offline resignation letter from the college is not valid. The MCC has said that all offline resignations will be ignored. If a candidate resigns their Round 1 seat, it will go back into the list of available seats. This freed-up seat will then be available in Round 2 of the NEET SS 2025 counselling.
