The University of Delhi (DU) has started the new academic session for 2026-27 on July 28, 2026, as stated in the official academic calendar that was posted on the university's website at du.ac.in. Classes have begun for the first, third, fifth, and seventh semesters of both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs in all affiliated colleges and departments. The North Campus and other DU colleges welcomed new students with orientation and induction events. Miranda House held its induction program called 'Deeksharambh 2026' from July 24 to July 28.Several colleges also conducted department-specific orientation sessions in different time slots before the first regular classes started. The academic year is divided into two parts: the odd semester, which runs from July to December 2026, and the even semester, which goes from January to May 2027.
This schedule applies to regular UG and PG programs, but it does not cover students in the DU School of Open Learning (SOL), who have their own separate calendar.

CSAS Admission Status for 2026-27
The Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal for undergraduate admissions opened on June 26, 2026, and is still active as classes begin. Postgraduate admissions are also taking place through the university's portal. Eligible PG candidates can apply for a mid-entry option by paying a fee of Rs 1,000. Students can apply and check their admission status on the CSAS portal at admission.uod.ac.in.
